NightShifters just did every DJ a favor by releasing the Momma’s Boy VS. Mikix the Cat EP. Though most of you probably think this is a battle between producers, it’s actually not, as Momma’s Boy and Mikix the Cat are actually the same person; Mike Gnacadja. And while aliases might be confusing, the message behind the music is simple: party it up and dance the night way.
The 9 track EP features four originals and five remixes from the likes of Dubbel Dutch, DJ Donna Summer, Act Yo Age, Supabeatz and Sovngaer. It’s all the top notch quality that NightShifters are recognized for and is available for download at Juno.
Nightshifters are the undisputed kings of raved out, bass heavy tunes. Every release they’ve put out so far has arguably become an instant classic, so it’s no surprise that label co-owner DJ Donna Summer would release one of the craziest records of the bunch. Raw has nicely syncopated drums sandwiched between classic house chords and heavy bass. The release consists of 9 total tracks, 5 of which are original productions while the other 4 being remixes. The remixes come from Bok Bok, Hostage, Noise Floor Crew and Sonido Del Principe. My favorite being the Bok Bok remix of course. Bass bad boy Hostage is back with a brand new EP called Valhalla on our favorite rave music label, Nightshifters. The release packed with 4 original tracks that touch base on tribal, dubstep, dutch… Everything! He’s basically taken each track and packed it with the party starting essentials. Not only are the original tracks fantastic but like any good modern release, there are also some fantastic remixes too!
What? Yeah, someone finally pieced together that DJing and alcohol go hand-in-hand. Well played, ZNMA (pronounced “Zima”)! The Russian vodka company called on Nightshifters to deliver a mix that would accurately represent how Russian’s get down. I think. In any case, this mix is laced with bangers, exclusives and super-advance tracks. If that sounds like your particular brand of vodka (get it?), dig into DJ Donna Summer’s 1 hour party mix!

The peeps at Nightshifters were kind enough to give us a free EP for Halloween and it definitely falls into the “treat” category. This is a perfect example of how Nightshifters is running the game right now by being a badass label but not letting that get to their heads. They stay grounded and appease their fans with treats like this EP.
The focus of the EP is a track from Japanese producer DJ Polstyle called “Vampire Killah.” It’s a sure fire club hit full of vocal yelps and organ stabs. The track then comes with four super dope remixes from DJ Donna Summers, Rob Threezy, Trumpdisco, and LOL Boys. I can’t tell you my favorite remix because I am biased. So, download them all, jam out and keep an eye on Nightshifters because they are releasing a new ep from Hostage soon.
