Holy Ghost! posted a video of this remix on their blog a couple days ago and ever since then I’ve had it on a solid loop. The remix I’m referring to is none other than their rework of Monarchy‘s “Love Get Out Of My Way”, who’s single release will be available come July 26th with a full album shortly thereafter. Hold yourself over with this 192 (or grab the WAV that HG! posted on their blog) and keep up to date with Monarchy by signing up for their mailing list here. Oh, and be sure to catch HG! on tour with LCD Soundsystem if you can… That show was amazing.
Remember when you were little you’d mix different sodas from the fountain together? Most times your mix would be completely undrinkable and sometimes it would be the best concoction ever. When producing dance music, you can have the same 2 outcomes and, with a dash of Chicago House, UK Bass and Rave, Hot City is mixing tunes just right. With piano chords and choppy vocal spurts, their tunes are just straight up ILL and send kids into a frenzy at parties.
Got some more tunage from one of this years most promising acts, Monarchy. I’m pretty pumped for their Gold In The Fire release that’s due out on Neon Gold Records this coming February. Until then, enjoy some more demo’s and remixes.
As you may or may not have seen from my previous tweet, James Penycate from We Are Brilliantly Different hooked it up with some new hotness from Monarchy, a production duo out of London/ UK. He described them as a “Disco Friendly Fire” and I’d have to agree. Check out their demo of “Gold In The Fire” and don’t feel bad if you find yourself listening to it on repeat, you’d just be following suit.
