Call 911

Découverte, Musique Par: Beats™ No Comments »

I’m sure you’ve heard of Florrie, the babe-status musician out of London who hopped on the blog scene earlier this year. If not… She’s a babe-status musician out of London… Joking, but seriously, Florrie is the new face of cheeky, pop-house and is absolutely perfect for Summer, especially her remixes. Her new single “Call 911″ is the lead track off of Kitsune’s forthcoming Kitsune X Ponystep compilation, an “ultra-cool album that fuses pop, electro, indie, disco and more” (well put, James!) While you’re waiting for that goodness to drop, check out these remixes by Beataucue and Fred Falke.

Beataucue turned the original into a dance-floor heater and Fred Falke applied his usual dreamy-disco touch. Catch the other remixes by Bart B More and His Majesty Andre come July 19th.

Kitsuné Maison 8

Découverte, Musique, Review Par: Beats™ No Comments »

Kitsuné is probably one of the sickest labels around. From music to clothing to design, they’ve got a number of things on lock. I’ve only been following the label since the 6th compilation, so I might not have the history as some of you, but in my opinion this 8th compilation is the bees mf knees.

The Kitsuné Maison Compilation 8 dropped digitally out in Europe yesterday (November 16) and is now available for everyone else here. The comp offers up a ton of good tunes from the likes of Siriusmo, Midnight Juggernauts, Heartsrevolution, Two Door Cinema Club (amazing new Kitsuné signee), Moulinex, Harvard Bass, Delphic, Memory Tapes, Crystal Fighters, etc etc etc.

As you can probably piece together, this thing is stacked and it would really be a shame to not pick up a copy of the album for yourself. I’ve been trying to figure out which tracks to denote as my “favorites”, but it’s proven difficult, as every song offers up something tasty. However, I can safely say that the new Heartsrevolution, Delphic, Two Door Cinema Club, Logo and My Tiger My Timing tracks are up there on my list.

Get a preview of the compilation here and buy a copy here.

01. French Horn Rebellion – Up All Night
02. The Drums – Let’s Go Surfing

I Can Talk

Découverte, Musique Par: Beats™ No Comments »

Two Door Cinema Club are the newest signee to Kitsuné as well as the newest addition to my “top 10 tracks of the year” list. “I Can Talk”, along with their next album, is going to be released on Kitsuné sometime soon, the details are unclear at this point. Just a warning though, “I Can Talk” is more contagious than the MF Swine Flu. Enjoy!
