He’s back. The champion of Brooklyn’s genre bending, speaker bruising, bass infested club music… K-K-Kingdom! He just released an amazing 5 song EP on Night Slugs that are bleak and heavy. The appropriately titled That Mystic EP is tailor made for pitch black clubs and is a perfect soundtrack for any number of occasions.
We told you before that Kingdom was going to be huge and he’s clearly living up to that prediction. Pick up That Mystic when you can and enjoy some older gems below.
This No Static at All EP, released in conjunction with ATL web DJ Rob Wonder, is a hint that someone at Scion has impeccable taste in music. The release is packed with forward-thinking bass, heavy club tunes and represents a lot of what Rob Wonder plays on his radio show.
As Wonder says, “This collection of sounds was put together to move minds, hearts and feet.” Coinciding with this musical release, there is also a booklet (available both in print and digitally) about No Static At All that features tweaked creature illustrations by Atlanta art legend R. Land.
If you want to keep up with Rob’s adventures, follow @robwonder on Twitter and check out his radio show with new episodes every first Thursday of the month at robwonderradio.com.
Atlanta based DJ Rob Wonder just put out a mix featuring an unreleased Kingdom track. As Rob Wonder puts it, “This collection of sounds was put together to move minds, hearts and feet” and is a promo for his new Scion radio channel called No Static At All. The mix also features songs from Bok Bok, B.Rich, and Klever…so there’s lots of good stuff besides Kingdom!

I don’t have to tell you how much this new EP from Marcus Price & Carli rules the world. The whole thing has been a favorite of mine for a while and Beats even went so far as to prematurely put “Mat, Bira, Kvinnor, Weed (Kingdom Remix)” is his Top 10 of 2009 list.
In any case, the release is finally available for your listening pleasure with devastatingly amazing remixes from Kingdom, Dubbel Dutch, Norrit, Girl Unit, and Crazy Pays. I bought the 12″ but if you want digital it’s available on Beatport, iTunes, and Juno, all compliments of Palms Out Sounds!
Seems like we’re posting a new mix from Kingdom like every week, but that’s ok because his mixes are pretty awesome! Featuring a lot of his usual suspects like Bok Bok, Ikonika, Egyptrixx and of course his own production and remixes, this is another great mix if you’re a fan of Kingdom or what he’s a fan of.

After putting out a promo mix for FabricLive and his release on Fool’s Gold Records, Kingdom is back with another mixtape. This time it’s for Scottish blog LuckyMe‘s mix series and it’s another great mix of futuristic jams.

My ma always told me that you can be judged by the company you keep, and if that’s true then Ikonika is in great standing. She just finished a full-length record on the UK label, Hyperdub, who’s put out vinyl for the likes of Burial, Darkstar, Kode9, Cooly G, Zomby and many more. Not only is she on a great label, but she’s constantly chilling with Kingdom, Girl Unit, Bok Bok, and Manara, which makes her doubly awesome. Her 14 track, debut record, Contact. Want. Love. Have., is set to drop on April 6th, grab it or be stuck in the past.
If you never ordered your Kingdom 10″ from Acephale then shame on you. The limited edition, silver embossed vinyl sleeve would have made for a wonderful addition to ones framed record collection. Aside from remixes by Bok Bok, L-Vis 1900 and Todd Edwards, the Acephale crew has also commissioned CFCF for a little remix. Enjoy his version of “Mindreader” as well as his sunset beach party remix of Fabio Lendrum and what the hell, his old version of “D.A.N.C.E.” too.
Finally, after what seems to be forever, Fool’s Gold has released my secret weapon to the masses. What secret weapon, you ponder? Why, no other than Kingdom’s tracks “Mindreader” and “You”. I wrote about these a long time ago here on Hot Bizzies and it’s been a fun wait, as Kingdom has grown to become one of the best producers and DJs in the game. With his percussion-heavy bass bangers layered with diva vocals, his sets and mixtapes are always a blast. And now, with the release of this EP we can finally rejoice.
The EP is backed by remixes from his UK family Bok Bok and L-Vis 1990 as well as the legendary Todd Edwards. If you were lucky, you ordered the 10″ from Acephale with it’s silver foil accents and slightly different design. If you weren’t lucky, don’t worry, Fool’s Gold will re-release it. Until then, you can purchase digitally on Beatport, Boomkat, and Amazon.
Now that 2009 is officially over and done, we can get excited about all the new music producers stepping up to the plate to make 2010 start off with a bang. Much like Bok Bok and L-vis 1990 in 2009, you couldn’t escape hearing the buzz about these two. Aside from producing and DJing, the two also started a pretty rowdy party called Night Slugs, which has now evolved into a label.
The first release on the Nightslugs record label is from Mosca. If you’re a geek like Beats or I, than you’ve probably heard Mosca through Kingdom, Bok Bok, or Dubbel Dutch on one of their ustream sets. If you’re unfamiliar with Mosca, then this EP will be a great introduction, as he’s everything you’d hope for in a producer. Blending quirky deep techno sounds with world house vibes and tons of bass. This is “grown ‘n sexy” club music far removed from the annoying screechy sounds of blog house, but with the same inventive energy. Not only are the original tracks fantastic but the Nightslugs sprung for some heavy duty remixers like Roska, Greena and Julio Bashmore.
The EP will be released to every digital music retailer (iTunes, Juno, Beatport, Boomkat, etc.) as well as have a very limited number of vinyl copies pressed. Keep an eye out for Night Slugs releases through-out the year because they plan on releasing EPs for Kingdom, Greena, Jam City, Girl Unit and Egyptrixx.

Lately I’ve been tuning into Dubbel Dutch + Prince William + Kingdom over at their ustream channels here and here. From said channels I’ve gotten many a new track, some of which you can find on the Grindin’ November Chart others are ID’d on the spot via the chat. One of the “on the spot” ID’d tracks, which has been on repeat for a good chunk of my day, is “Coconut” by French Fries, an “afrobeat” producer out of France. The track carries the same kind of vibe as the infectious “Pon De Floor” by Major Lazer and kind of goes along with that whole Dancehall thing that caught some traction this Summer.
