Earlier this year, my good friends Richard and Asher officially released their single “Love Burn” on Hervé‘s record label Cheap Thrills. The release went over well and was even supported with solid remixes by both Mighty Mouse and Max Morrell. Since both the remixes were more on the House & bass heavy side of dance music, I wanted to try to turn “Love Burn” into a dubbed out Disco-Rock tune.
Over the past couple of months, I’ve been inspired by the Disco producer Gino Soccio and definitely tried to incorporate a lot of his techniques into this remix. Considering it’s the first Dub remix I’ve ever produced, I wanted to come at it with an old school mentality which could give it that organic sound I love. I hope you enjoy it!
Has it really been two months already since the release of Palette One? Man, time flies! Well, with springtime in full effect and summer just on the horizon, there is no better time than now to give you all the second installment of the Palette mix series.
For the past year, I’ve found myself including more and more tracks into my DJ sets that all carry a specific organic, live sound. I guess, in a way, I just find myself able to enjoy dance music more when I can imagine it being performed by a band. So I’ve decided to make this concept the main focus for Palette Two; I have strung together 13 tracks that I found that all share a similar organic, fun vibe. I also made sure to program some, in my opinion, classic tracks alongside some transitions I’ve been playing live for the past couple months.
You will also see is that I’ve included two new Kid Color remixes! For about the past two years, I’ve been fine tuning my production skills with the goal of eventually releasing remixes & originals – and the day has come! I’m very happy to present you all with these two new remixes of mine with the promise that there will be more on the way very soon!
I really hope you all enjoy both Palette Two along with my new remixes! Oh, and early warning, Palette Three is coming out in June!

It’s almost been two years since I released Carded & DisCarded. Although that is a very long time period, I do feel that it’s safe to say both my style of DJing and taste in music have developed since then. I don’t mean to discredit Carded & DisCarded at all, by any means, but over this time I have had the chance to explore new concepts and styles of mixing that I discovered to be more beneficial when incorporated into my DJ sets. With these changes occurring over he past two years, I’ve come up with an idea that has finally taken form – I’m happy to announce my new bimonthly mix series; Palette.
The concept behind the series is that for the next 6 months, I will hand pick and craft a mix for your listening pleasure. I decided to kick off the Palette series with a program of songs that all mean a lot to me. Not to mention, I also decided to throw in a few of my favorite transitions that I’ve enjoyed playing live at most of my shows over the past couple of months. I may not be able to promise that you’ll enjoy every mix in the series, but I can promise that I’ll work hard to make it interesting for you all.
I really hope you all enjoy this months mix and look forward to Palette Two in early April!

The Wooden Sky remind me of a less poppy, and possibly more talented, version of The Fray. The band is comprised of four dudes out of Canada with a penchant for truly wholesome music, the brand of music that I think the “industry” is lacking these days. From start to finish their newest album, If I Don’t Come Home You’ll Be Gone, is a perfectly balanced blend of on-point vocals atop hearty guitars, pianos and strings. Pretty much everything one would look for when digging into the “chillacious indie” realm.
In coordination with this album’s tour, the guys are also doing a pretty cool thing that they’re calling “A Documentary in Pieces” (directed by Scott Cudmore). You can catch the first to bits here and here. I would have embedded said Vimeo bits in this post, but I absolutely love the feel of that promo shot. Damn.
Anyway, as far as tonight’s show goes, I’d say that it’s going to be a pretty chill, yet immensely musically titillating. If it weren’t for my bro’s Kid Color and OCD Automatic playing at Relax Lounge, you’d definitely be finding me at Schuba’s.
