I don’t have to tell you how much this new EP from Marcus Price & Carli rules the world. The whole thing has been a favorite of mine for a while and Beats even went so far as to prematurely put “Mat, Bira, Kvinnor, Weed (Kingdom Remix)” is his Top 10 of 2009 list.
In any case, the release is finally available for your listening pleasure with devastatingly amazing remixes from Kingdom, Dubbel Dutch, Norrit, Girl Unit, and Crazy Pays. I bought the 12″ but if you want digital it’s available on Beatport, iTunes, and Juno, all compliments of Palms Out Sounds!
Back with the second installment of our Mini Mix Series, we’ve called upon Hot Biscuits regular; Dubbel Dutch. I swear, sometimes it feels like we’re posting this guys stuff every other week, and for good reason too, it’s because he’s really really really good at what he does. The Palms Out Sounds artist sets fire (in a good way) to every production he touches, and this mix is no exception. In fact, Dutch has a 3-track release set to come out this May that’s been getting heavy praise by a handful of names that you’re very familiar with, you’d be cheating yourself to not learn about it. Do so here.
That’s all I got, plug in your headphones and lock in while Dub and Markus murder your shit.

NightShifters just did every DJ a favor by releasing the Momma’s Boy VS. Mikix the Cat EP. Though most of you probably think this is a battle between producers, it’s actually not, as Momma’s Boy and Mikix the Cat are actually the same person; Mike Gnacadja. And while aliases might be confusing, the message behind the music is simple: party it up and dance the night way.
The 9 track EP features four originals and five remixes from the likes of Dubbel Dutch, DJ Donna Summer, Act Yo Age, Supabeatz and Sovngaer. It’s all the top notch quality that NightShifters are recognized for and is available for download at Juno.
There’s been a fair amount of chatter on this blog about Dubbel Dutch, but then again there can never be enough, can there? He’s a beast of a producer/ DJ and an all around great guy. He’s currently gearing up to release a 3-song EP (“Throwback”, “Deep Underground” and “Fool In You”) on Palms Out Sounds, which has already been praised by Bok Bok, Kingdom, Ikonika, and Sinden… And not just praise, but high praise.
Sinden dubbed it as his “Pick of The Month” in the April issue of DJ-MAG, Bok Bok is calling “Deep Underground” his track of the year and Ikonika is putting “Fool In You” in just about all of her mixes. Each one of the tunes reach levels of amazing that will be hard to top from any number of producers this year. The release will be on vinyl first, followed by digital, and might not be out until mid-May, so here’s a little something to hold you over until then.
Also, Dub Dutch is the next contributor to our Mini Mix Series, which should be out this week. So keep an eye out for it!
This is the most interesting song I’ve heard so far this year, shit, maybe last year too. Touching base on everything from Dance Hall to B-More to 8-bit, all intertwined with a nice little orchestra melody from the original, Dubbel Dutch spans over many a genre with his remix of Edu K’s “Jumpin n Pumpin.” I absolutely love that “heyyy” sample too, so choice. Check out the whole Ja, Mann! release at Scattermusic.
Lately I’ve been tuning into Dubbel Dutch + Prince William + Kingdom over at their ustream channels here and here. From said channels I’ve gotten many a new track, some of which you can find on the Grindin’ November Chart others are ID’d on the spot via the chat. One of the “on the spot” ID’d tracks, which has been on repeat for a good chunk of my day, is “Coconut” by French Fries, an “afrobeat” producer out of France. The track carries the same kind of vibe as the infectious “Pon De Floor” by Major Lazer and kind of goes along with that whole Dancehall thing that caught some traction this Summer.
