Don’t panic, the following piece of music is about 40bpm faster than what you might’ve expected to find here. Still undecided about which one to love more, both the track and the video have completely turned my day from average into terrific (even after the tenth consecutive listen), conjuring a permanent smile up on my face (not joking here). Kudos to the UK’s very own DJ Fresh for delighting the world with a catchy summer tune to hum along with.

Earlier this year, my good friends Richard and Asher officially released their single “Love Burn” on Hervé‘s record label Cheap Thrills. The release went over well and was even supported with solid remixes by both Mighty Mouse and Max Morrell. Since both the remixes were more on the House & bass heavy side of dance music, I wanted to try to turn “Love Burn” into a dubbed out Disco-Rock tune.
Over the past couple of months, I’ve been inspired by the Disco producer Gino Soccio and definitely tried to incorporate a lot of his techniques into this remix. Considering it’s the first Dub remix I’ve ever produced, I wanted to come at it with an old school mentality which could give it that organic sound I love. I hope you enjoy it!

Now that the Spanish bulls have successfully butchered the Dutch team, and all the Vuvuzela pandemonium is slowly fading away, here’s a fresh selection of only the finest in electronic dance music to celebrate the Spanish victory (or to forget the Dutch defeat) – my all-time favorite Swedes Dada Life have put together an electrifying mix to exorcise the last Vuvuzelas out of your head.
Here’s what the boys have to say about it: “Steel drum-flavoured tropical beats to match the summer heat? No way. Here is our July mix – and it’s packed with the usual stuff: the sound of red meat gone bad. Minced and seasoned with white noise – then served to the masses. Enjoy. “

Call him a genius, call him the next big thing, however you want to phrase it, French producer Canblaster (one part of Club Cheval) is worth every word of praise. Keep your eyes and ears open for him as he’s dropping a ton of dance floor destroyers in the coming months, for now enjoy some of the work he’s done this year.

MSTRKRFT have outdone themselves. I’m in love.

Well, Fort Awesome got a little nutty last night and lucky for me this Mock & Toof track was in my inbox this morning to wish me a “good day.” “Suppress Your Feelings” is a JAM off of Tuning Echos, a full-length release that came out earlier this year on Tiny Stick Records. It’s a low-key heater with a tone that I don’t really know how to describe. It’s odd and interesting and contagious.

Having already received airplay on BBC Radio One after only one and a half year after starting producing electronic dance music, ex-guitarist Haydn Hoffman is one of the up and coming electro exports from sunny Southern California. A huge remix of Chromeo’s timeless anthem Fancy Footwork showcases his fresh production skills:

Nataile Storm is a certified babe, and more to her than just her looks, she has a thing for putting her vocals pon some class UK producer’s tunes. First she was on Sticky’s “Jumeirah Riddim” with the ultimate summer anthem called “Look Pon Mi.” Now Heatwave DJ Collective have made another heater with “Play Di Ting” by putting Miss Storm over Footsteps‘ “Worker Riddim.” The track is amazing and you can hear DJs like Bok Bok, Toddla T, Sinden and Ikonika rinsing it in their sets.

Personally, I’m always a bit sceptical when I receive an M.I.A. remix, for several reasons: One, I have an estimated twelve thousand remixes of Paper Planes in my iTunes library, two, most of these are just cheap attempts to climb the Hype Machine charts, and three, I like M.I.A.’s music as it is, so it takes a hell of a producer to occupy the little space left for improvement. Nevertheless, this remix by LA-based producer Clockwork has fully convinced me to both post it up here and drop it in my own sets. A pumping vocal intro, a harmonic piano break and an insane build-up followed by a mental breakdown – just the way we all love it.
